A waiting zone outside the ICU unit of a government hospital becomes a space where human communion reidentifies itself, the conflict of each individual encompasses the rest in the space, the play is about humans seeking absolution in resolution.
Ek Adhpaka Sa Natak
As the name suggests, the play is never well-cooked, till the actors find their own voice. 4 actors trying to pull off a play with short scripts, limited sets, and limited knowledge, find their way through the play to the finest art of expression. This journey is very interesting as it explores many theatrical forms, with live music and very vulnerable actors themselves.
A group of paying guests deal with their lives and ambitions in Dharavi without realizing the converging issue engulfing all of them. During the course of the story, one comes across several types and aspects of mental health often lost in broad strokes and the end showcases a small example of the seriousness of the issue at hand. This play not only talks about mental health but also discusses class and gender politics.
