Trainee officers of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) – 2025 batch met Rajasthan Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas at the State Secretariat on Tuesday. The interaction focused on governance reforms, the role of technology in administration, and the vision of a developed India.

Addressing the trainee officers, the Chief Secretary emphasized that digitalisation plays a crucial role in realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” He stated that the use of technology not only simplifies administrative processes but also significantly enhances transparency, efficiency, and accuracy in departmental functioning.

Encouraging the young officers, Shri Srinivas highlighted the importance of innovative thinking and a research-oriented approach, noting that such qualities can bring meaningful change in the lives of citizens. While speaking about Rajasthan, he described the state as a globally renowned tourism hub with immense potential in solar energy, making it a key contributor to sustainable development.

The Chief Secretary interacted with the officers in a cordial atmosphere, took their introductions, and discussed their study and visit programme in detail. He cited the state government’s 181 Helpline as a successful example of citizen-centric governance, explaining how it ensures time-bound resolution of public grievances, strengthens accountability, and builds public trust in government institutions.

During the interaction, Shri Srinivas also shared personal experiences from his administrative career, offering valuable insights to the trainee officers. He advised them to regularly read history, geography, and motivational books, and encouraged them to cultivate the habit of daily writing to enhance clarity of thought and expression.

Concluding the session, the Chief Secretary extended his best wishes for a bright and successful future to the IFS trainee officers.
