The city of Jaipur has been selected to host the first meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) from the BRICS nations. A high-level review meeting regarding preparations was chaired on Monday at the Secretariat by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas. Senior officials from the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India attended.

A Global Opportunity for Rajasthan

The Chief Secretary stated that hosting such a prestigious international gathering is a matter of pride and privilege for the state. The event will serve as a global platform to showcase Rajasthan’s culture, tourism potential, developmental progress, and administrative capabilities. All departments have been directed to work in coordination and complete preparations within the stipulated timeline.

The proposed programs, scheduled from March 4 to March 7, will include ministerial sessions, delegate arrivals, accommodation arrangements, transport logistics, security, healthcare facilities, cultural events, sightseeing, and other administrative arrangements.

Security, Transport & Civic Preparations

Officials were instructed to ensure smooth transportation for delegations, including pilot vehicles and route clearance where required. Strict security measures will be enforced at venues, hotels, tourist locations, and along travel routes. Authorities were also asked to maintain cleanliness, beautification, and upkeep across major roads, event venues, and sightseeing routes.

Healthcare readiness will include 24-hour medical teams, ambulances, essential medicines, and coordination with nearby hospitals.

Cultural Showcase at Amer Fort

Preparations for a special visit and cultural program at Amer Fort were also reviewed. The event aims to present Rajasthan’s rich heritage through folk dance, music, and traditional hospitality. Trained guides, parking arrangements, and other visitor facilities will be ensured for delegates.

Plans are underway to prepare souvenir gifts featuring local art and handicrafts, along with tourism booklets. Liaison officers will also be appointed and trained to coordinate with international delegations.
