The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has approved several key infrastructure and development projects aimed at improving traffic management, strengthening urban infrastructure, and promoting sports facilities across the city.

The decisions were taken during the Project Works Committee (PWC) meeting chaired by Jaipur Development Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan on Friday. The initiatives align with the vision of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the guidance of Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra to accelerate Jaipur’s planned and sustainable development.

DPR Approved for Elevated Traffic Corridor

A major highlight of the meeting was the approval of ₹6 crore for preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a proposed elevated traffic corridor along the Dravyavati River.

The proposed corridor is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in Jaipur and provide smoother connectivity for commuters. With traffic volumes rising in the city, the corridor will serve as an important solution for future transportation needs.

₹16.67 Crore Approved for Box Culverts

To further improve connectivity across the Dravyavati River, the committee approved ₹16.67 crore for the construction of box culverts at four locations. These structures will help ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement in the surrounding areas.

Road Development and Traffic Improvements

The PWC also cleared several projects aimed at improving Jaipur’s road network and traffic flow:

  • ₹12.12 crore for building an at-grade U-turn facility on Hare Krishna Marg (Mahal Road) in Zone-9 to improve traffic circulation.

  • ₹6.09 crore for road construction in the remaining part of the Loha Mandi Scheme in Zone-6, enhancing local connectivity.

Modern Sports Complex to Be Developed

In a move to promote sports infrastructure, the committee approved ₹7.90 crore for the construction and development of a modern sports complex along the Dravyavati River.

Additionally, the planning of land allocated to the Rajasthan State Sports Council for a proposed outdoor stadium in the Jaisinghpura Khor area was also approved.

Land Pooling Scheme for Planned Expansion

To support Jaipur’s urban expansion, the committee granted permission to present a preliminary land pooling scheme for Shivdaspura, Chandalai, and Barkheda villages along Tonk Road. The initiative aims to ensure structured and planned development in these emerging areas.

Additional Infrastructure Approvals

Other important approvals granted during the meeting include:

  • Allocation of land for a sewerage pumping station under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme of Municipal Corporation Heritage

  • Planning of 4.57 hectares of land transferred between JDA and RIICO

  • Replanning of Block-II of JDA’s Central Spine Scheme

Boost to Jaipur’s Future Development

JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan stated that the approved projects will strengthen the city’s infrastructure and significantly improve traffic management.

“These initiatives will contribute to Jaipur’s well-planned growth and support the city’s long-term development goals,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Nishant Jain, Director Planning Mrinal Joshi, Director Engineering-I Devendra Gupta, and other senior officials.
