The Rajasthan Patrika Group of Publications has built the Patrika Gate. It is a magnificent gate built as a monument under Mission Anupam of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). The Patrika Gate in Jaipur has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Patrika Gate in Jaipur (Rajasthan) through video conferencing.

The Patrika Gate is an entranceway to the Jawahar Circle Park, the biggest circular park in Asia. Outside the park, you’ll find a substantial pink gate looming over the peaks of luscious green trees. Inside the entrance, you’ll find a fantastic walkway.

Each archway’s decoration is done with Rajasthani culture. The Patrika Gate has a considerable tourist attraction. The best part is that you will get such beautiful pictures as a selfie lover or a professional photographer that you will love them. Every photographer will be delighted to visit this place. You can spend hours taking photos and still each photograph will look all different. It has incredible color combinations and has become a go-to place for celebrity shoots.

It is located 30 minutes outside the city. Dedicated parking is available free of cost. A fantastic monument is ready as your first stop when you reach Jaipur airport and start your trip into the city. The decorations and colors under them are filled with amazement.

The Best Time to Visit

From October to Mid March, when the weather is dry but not too hot and is the perfect time to see the Jaipur attractions. At any time of year, the noon heat can be intolerable. With this in mind, plan to go sightseeing in the early mornings and late afternoons. At the same time, A siesta is best taken in the mid-afternoon!

Arrive as early as possible to see the Patrika Gate without having to worry about crowds in your shots. We arrived at 7 a.m. and had the entire property to ourselves, save for the housekeeper. After that, you can go for a morning walk in Jawahar Circle Garden with the locals.

If you prefer a more intimate setting, the Jawahar Circle Garden provides a light and water show every evening at 7 p.m. A variety of food and drink stalls can be found among groups of local families.

Time Required

Patrika Gate and Jawahar Circle Garden will take about 2-3 hours to see, including travel time from the city. The Patrika Gate in Jaipur is a popular photo location; however, there are a few things to keep in mind before going.

  • In most tourist spots in Jaipur, using a tripod is prohibited, and security personnel are frequently stationed in each area. We arrived early, though, and were able to take some photos without being approached by any guards.
  • The ideal time to avoid the massive visitors is before 8 a.m., 
  • In Jaipur, professional pickpockets are active. When not in use, keep your equipment safe and secure.

Patrika Gate history

Even though this gate is modelled on the seven historic historical gates used to grant access to Jaipur’s walled city also it is a comparatively modern attraction.

Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh created Jaipur in 1727 AD on Vaastu Shastra principles. He made a fortified city with seven gates on the city walls, far away from Amer (the ancient capital). In the 1940s, an eighth gate, known as Naya Pol or New Gate, was completed. This gate was modelled after Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, which is a remarkable fact!

The Patrika Gate, which is currently Jaipur’s ninth gate, was named after a local news organisation called Patrika. In 2016, it was completed and opened to the public. I

N 2020, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, inaugurated this gate via video conferencing! In his address, he commended Kulish Ji from the Patrika Media Company to contribute to Indian journalism.
