Rajasthan’s Budget for 2026-27 places a strong emphasis on water accessibility, renewable energy, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, with significant financial allocations aimed at accelerating the State’s economic growth.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari, while presenting the State Budget, outlined a series of development-focused initiatives backed by structural reforms and prudent financial management. She emphasized that Rajasthan’s economic size has expanded significantly due to disciplined fiscal policies and reform-oriented governance.
₹6,800 Crore Allocation for Tap Water Connectivity
One of the major highlights of the Budget is the allocation of ₹6,800 crore to strengthen drinking water infrastructure across rural and urban Rajasthan.
₹4,500 crore has been earmarked under the Chief Minister Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure tap water connectivity to every household in villages.
₹2,300 crore will be invested in urban drinking water supply systems to improve access and reliability in cities.
The initiative aims to ensure safe and reliable drinking water for all residents, reinforcing the government’s commitment to basic civic infrastructure.
₹3,000 Crore for Solar Parks in Bikaner and Jaisalmer
In a major push toward renewable energy, the government has proposed nearly ₹2,950 crore for the development of new solar parks in Bikaner and Jaisalmer.
These projects are expected to strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a leading renewable energy hub in India while promoting sustainable development and green energy investment.
Boost for Youth: Interest-Free Loans up to ₹10 Lakh
To promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance, the Budget expands the CM Self-Employment Scheme, under which:
Youth will receive interest-free loans and grants up to ₹10 lakh.
Approximately 30,000 young beneficiaries are expected to benefit.
This move is aimed at generating employment opportunities and encouraging startups and small businesses across the State.
Road Infrastructure Strengthened
The government has also prioritized road connectivity:
₹1,400 crore will be spent on non-patchable roads.
₹600 crore has been allocated for missing link roads.
These investments aim to improve transportation networks, facilitate trade, and enhance regional connectivity.
Rajasthan’s Economy Set to Cross ₹21.52 Lakh Crore
According to the Finance Minister, Rajasthan’s economy is projected to reach ₹21,52,100 crore in 2026-27. Additionally, the State’s per capita income is expected to rise from ₹1.67 lakh to ₹2.02 lakh by the end of 2025-26.
She attributed this growth to fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and policy-driven development strategies adopted by the government.
Vision 2047: Towards a Developed Rajasthan
In her address, Diya Kumari said the government is committed to building a developed Rajasthan by 2047 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
She emphasized inclusive growth centered on the poor, youth, farmers, and women, aligning with the guiding principle of:
“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
The Budget reflects the State’s focus on sustainable, inclusive, and economically resilient development, marking a significant step toward long-term prosperity.
