The vision of a “Healthy and Disease-Free Rajasthan” is rapidly becoming reality as the state government accelerates healthcare reforms under the leadership of Bhajan Lal Sharma. The Rajasthan Budget 2026–27 allocates ₹32,526 crore to the medical and health sector — a 53% increase compared to 2023–24, signaling a strong commitment to strengthening public health infrastructure, expanding digital healthcare, and improving access to treatment across the state.
Massive Investment to Strengthen Healthcare Systems
The government aims to ensure world-class medical facilities for citizens by boosting funding across departments:

₹4,853 crore – National Rural Health Mission
₹1,798 crore – Family Welfare Department
₹2,995 crore – Medical Education Department
₹787.67 crore – AYUSH sector
These funds will support hospital upgrades, modern equipment, training programs, and expansion of critical care services across Rajasthan.
Digital Health Expansion: 6.52 Crore ABHA IDs Issued
Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Rajasthan Digital Health Mission, 6.52 crore ABHA IDs have been generated, enabling seamless digital health records. Additionally, 2.033 million patients received consultations via e-Sanjeevani telemedicine — a major step toward accessible healthcare in remote regions.
Major Hospital Upgrades in Jaipur
JK Lone Hospital Expansion
At JK Lone Hospital, a 500-bed IPD tower will be constructed to enhance pediatric care. A new Pediatric Neurology Department will also be established to improve specialized treatment for children.
RUHS Pediatric Facility
A 200-bed pediatric IPD block with Neonatal ICU will be developed at RUHS Hospital, strengthening emergency and newborn care capacity.
Medical Colleges Across Cities Receive Boost
Significant allocations have also been made for medical colleges:
Jodhpur – ₹461 crore
Udaipur – ₹333 crore
Kota – ₹341 crore
Ajmer – ₹345 crore
Bikaner – ₹276+ crore
These upgrades will include modular operation theatres, critical care units, trauma super-specialty courses, modern hostels, and life-support training centers.
Expanding Healthcare Access at Grassroots Level
According to the state’s economic review, Rajasthan currently has:

849 CHCs
2,875 PHCs
15,292 sub-centres
638 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
The new budget proposes further upgrades such as:

Emergency Care: Raj Suraksha Initiative
To ensure immediate treatment during accidents, heart attacks, or childbirth emergencies, the Raj Suraksha Scheme will introduce:
24×7 Critical Care Command Centres
ECG and Tele-ECG at CHCs
Ambulances stationed on highways
₹150 crore for trauma service strengthening
A Moksh Vahini service will also transport deceased persons’ bodies free of cost from mortuaries to homes.
Free Treatment for Vulnerable Citizens
The Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme provides cashless treatment up to ₹25 lakh across 2,179 health packages.
1.36 crore families are registered
15 lakh beneficiaries received treatment in 2025–26
The scheme will now expand to include destitute, abandoned, and mentally challenged patients. Panchayat-level health camps will ensure eligible citizens are enrolled.
Focus on Mental Health Care
Under the upcoming Raj Mamta Program, the government will prioritize mental health services.
At SMS Medical College, a Centre of Excellence in Mental Health will be established. District headquarters will receive Mental Health Care Cells, psychiatrists, and psychological counselors. Schools will also host awareness and stress-management sessions to address anxiety, depression, and suicide risks.
