Jaipur is all set to celebrate Rajasthan Diwas with a vibrant lineup of cultural and tourism events from March 17 to March 19. The celebrations are being organized by the Tourism Department, showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and folk culture of Rajasthan through various programs across the city.
Cultural Programs to Highlight Rajasthan’s Heritage
According to Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar, several grand cultural events will take place at popular tourist and religious sites in Jaipur during these three days. These programs will highlight Rajasthan’s traditional art forms, folk music, and cultural heritage, giving visitors and residents an opportunity to experience the state’s vibrant traditions.
The aim of these celebrations is to connect people with the unique culture, customs, and folk arts of Rajasthan.
Special Aarti at Brij Nidhi Temple
The celebrations will begin on March 17 at 7:30 AM with a special aarti at Brij Nidhi Temple, located near Tripolia Gate in Jaipur.
This spiritual event is being organized by the Tourism Department in collaboration with Siyahi Sanstha, marking an auspicious start to the Rajasthan Diwas celebrations.
Theatre Performance at Jawahar Kala Kendra
Later on March 17 at 7:00 PM, the National School of Drama (NSD) will present the play “Samudra Manthan” at the central courtyard of Jawahar Kala Kendra.
The play is directed by Chittaranjan Tripathy, a well-known theatre director associated with NSD. The performance is expected to be one of the key highlights of the celebrations.
Nature Hikes for Adventure Enthusiasts
For those who enjoy nature and outdoor activities, the Tourism Department has also planned Nature Hikes in collaboration with Hunter Hikers.
March 17: Garh Ganesh Temple to Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan (6 km)
March 18: Kheri Gate to Sagar Lake, Amer (6 km)
Both hikes will begin at 6:45 AM, allowing participants to explore Jaipur’s scenic routes while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Heritage Walk Through Jaipur’s Historic Areas
On March 18 at 7:00 AM, a Heritage Walk will be organized in partnership with the Jaipur Virasat Foundation.
The walk will pass through several iconic locations including Chaturbhuj Ji Temple, Choti Chaupar, and Gem Cinema on M.I. Road, offering participants a chance to explore Jaipur’s historical architecture and cultural legacy.
Grand Cultural Evening at Albert Hall
The celebrations will conclude on March 19, which is being observed as Rajasthan Diwas on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada as per the state government’s decision.
A grand cultural evening will be organized at the Albert Hall premises in Jaipur. The event will feature performances by renowned artists including:
Padma Shri Anwar Khan Manganiyar and his troupe
Padma Shri Tagaram Bhil and his troupe
In addition, local artists will present cultural performances, Kathak dance, and specially choreographed shows. The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks display in the presence of distinguished guests.
