Jaipur is at the center of a major state revenue milestone after Rajasthan's mining sector recorded more than Rs 10,394 crore in collections in FY 2025-26. The performance marks the first time the sector has crossed the Rs 10,000 crore level and represents roughly 13 percent growth over the previous financial year.

The year ended with an additional record in March, when monthly collections rose above Rs 1,506 crore, the highest ever for a single month. For Jaipur readers, the story matters because the state's top mining administration works out of the capital, and the new numbers show how sharply the sector's collections have expanded over the last five years.

Quick Highlights

  • Rajasthan's mining sector collected more than Rs 10,394 crore in FY 2025-26.
  • The annual total was up by Rs 1,163.73 crore, or about 13 percent, over FY 2024-25.
  • March 2026 alone brought in more than Rs 1,506 crore, the highest monthly collection on record.
  • The sector crossed the Rs 10,000 crore mark for the first time.
  • Jaisalmer posted the strongest target-linked field performance at 208.99 percent.

What changed in 2025-26

Officials said the annual collection was up by Rs 1,163.73 crore compared with FY 2024-25, when the department had reported Rs 9,228.21 crore. The department, which is directly held under the chief minister's portfolio, linked the new result to regular monitoring, tighter focus on potential revenue areas, coordinated recovery efforts and execution from senior offices down to the field level.

That matters because the year was not described as an easy one. The department said auction activity and mining operations were affected by several constraints during the year, making the final record look more significant than a routine year-on-year increase.

Revenue trend in Rajasthan mining

The longer-term trend shows that mining revenue has been climbing steadily, but the strongest acceleration has come in the last two financial years. After staying below Rs 7,500 crore through 2023-24, the sector moved to above Rs 9,200 crore in 2024-25 and then crossed Rs 10,394 crore in 2025-26.

Financial yearRevenue
2021-22Rs 6,394.89 crore
2022-23Rs 7,213.14 crore
2023-24Rs 7,438.92 crore
2024-25Rs 9,228.21 crore
2025-26More than Rs 10,394 crore

The March 2026 number adds another signal that the pace of collection strengthened toward the end of the year. With more than Rs 1,506 crore collected in a single month, the sector also set a new monthly benchmark rather than only an annual one.

Which field units stood out

Among the target-based field performances, Jaisalmer posted the strongest result at 208.99 percent of target. Officials also listed Nagaur, Karauli, Salumber, Bundi, Sawar, Kotputli, Churu and Jodhpur among the units that crossed 100 percent of their collection targets.

That spread suggests the record was not driven by one district alone. Instead, the department is presenting it as a statewide performance supported by multiple field offices and closer administrative monitoring from Jaipur.

Why the number matters now

For Rajasthan, the record gives the government a stronger financial result from a major extractive sector at a time when execution and oversight are under close watch across departments. For Jaipur, it reinforces the capital's role as the command center where state-level reviews, monitoring and policy direction are being translated into measurable fiscal outcomes.

The next thing to watch is whether the state can sustain this momentum into FY 2026-27. After crossing Rs 10,000 crore for the first time and setting a record monthly collection in March, the benchmark for the mining department is now significantly higher than it was even two years ago.
