For residents planning their Diwali shopping, the fair offers a chance to browse locally made products and support the women who produce them. Visitors can explore terracotta pieces, wooden products, embroidery and other handicrafts alongside a range of food stalls.

The combination of decorative items and food gives visitors several reasons to browse: picking up handmade pieces for the festive season, exploring craftwork or trying traditional dishes.

A festive marketplace for women’s self-help groups

The fair was inaugurated on Wednesday by the institute’s Director General, Dr Neeraj K. Pawan, who lit a ceremonial lamp and visited the stalls. He spoke with participants about their products and recognised their skills and creativity.

The event gives women’s self-help groups a place to display and market their work, reach more customers and build livelihood opportunities. Pawan encouraged Jaipur residents to visit the fair and buy handmade products to support the participating women.

For shoppers, it brings a range of crafts and festive purchases together in one place. For the women behind the stalls, the eight-day fair provides an opportunity to introduce their products to a wider market.
