Rajasthan has set a December deadline for its target of 60 new CNG stations in the current financial year, while also accelerating household piped-natural-gas connections across the state.
The direction was issued at a review meeting in Jaipur on September 18, 2026. City gas distribution companies have been asked to prioritise neighbourhoods where the pipeline infrastructure is already in place, making it possible to connect homes more quickly.

Officials said more than 30,000 households had received domestic piped natural gas, or DPNG, connections during the previous three months. The state is working towards connecting 40,000 new households by September 30.

The CNG and PNG network is being developed by 13 city gas distribution companies across 17 geographical areas in Rajasthan. The statewide figures do not specify how many of the new stations or household connections will be located in Jaipur.
Government housing joins the piped-gas push
Government residential colonies are also being prioritised for DPNG connections. Departments responsible for these properties have been asked to take the steps needed to extend piped gas to eligible homes.
The Food and Civil Supplies Department will coordinate at the district level with gas distribution companies to help households shift from LPG cylinders to piped natural gas where service is available. Oil marketing companies and city gas operators have also been asked to work together during the transition.
