Jaipur-based Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) will work with Rajasthan's Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship to bring vocational training closer to workplace needs. The two have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), with plans spanning instructor training, course improvements and practical exposure for young people.
The agreement, announced on October 9, 2026, was signed by department Commissioner Rishav Mandal and BSDU President Prof. Sanjay Goel. It gives the Jaipur university a role in a statewide effort to strengthen vocational education and improve employment prospects.
ITI instructors and course content in focus
Mandal said stronger links between government training institutions, universities and industry would help young people build practical skills suited to changing employer requirements. The collaboration covers both how instructors teach and what trainees learn.
- Trainer development: Upskilling government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) instructors and running Training of Trainers programmes.
- Course improvements: Enhancing curricula and providing advanced training in emerging skill sectors.
- Practical exposure: Supporting participation in IndiaSkills competitions and facilitating apprenticeship opportunities.
What it means for Jaipur trainees
For Jaipur's vocational training community, the local connection is BSDU's involvement in linking educational expertise with government institutions and industry. Trainer development and course updates are intended to make classroom learning more relevant to the skills employers need.
Apprenticeships are also part of the planned cooperation, offering a route to practical industry experience. However, application dates, participating ITIs, specific courses and the number of apprenticeship places have not been announced. Improved employability remains an objective of the partnership; the agreement does not guarantee jobs for trainees.
