Jaipur has received 103 electric buses under the PM e-Bus Seva programme, with 58 already operating from Bagrana depot. The remaining buses are due to begin services from Todi depot soon, marking the next step in the city's electric-bus rollout.

As of October 24, 2026, Rajasthan has received 250 e-buses against an approved fleet of 1,150 across nine cities. Jaipur has the largest approved allocation, at 550 buses.

Bagrana services running, Todi deployment next

The 103 buses delivered to Jaipur have been received by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL). While 58 are running from Bagrana, the rest are awaiting deployment from Todi. The number received by the city therefore covers both buses in service and those still to start operating.

The buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, panic buttons and other safety equipment. The programme aims to offer affordable, comfortable public transport, including for senior citizens, students and passengers with disabilities.

1,150 e-buses approved across nine Rajasthan cities

The programme initially covered 675 electric buses for eight cities. The expanded approval now covers 1,150 buses in nine cities, with Jaipur accounting for 550. These are approved allocations; the statewide delivery total so far is 250.

Depot upgrades and double-decker procurement

JCTSL is also progressing procurement of 450 e-buses and 50 double-decker e-buses under the 2025-26 state budget announcement. The procurement process is ongoing.

Depots have been developed at Bagrana, Todi Mod and Sanganer to support electric-bus operations. Land has also been allotted for depots at Ralawata near Goner, Khatwara on Ajmer Road and Achrol on Delhi Road.

The Centre has approved more than Rs 60 crore for charging and other electrical infrastructure at bus depots, along with more than Rs 53 crore for civil infrastructure. The work includes the facilities, electricity connections and operational arrangements needed to keep the expanding fleet in regular service.

For Jaipur commuters, the next milestone is the start of services from Todi depot, alongside the depot and charging work needed to support a larger electric fleet.
