Participants will include representatives of the Union ministries of power and new and renewable energy, state discoms, and central and state electricity regulatory commissions. International experts and stakeholders from the United States, Europe, South Korea and Japan have also been invited.

Smart Meters, Utility Finances And Rising Demand

The seven sessions will examine policy reforms, the financial health of discoms, digitisation and the growing use of artificial intelligence. Grid modernisation, cybersecurity, renewable energy and energy storage are also on the agenda.

Another focus will be managing the additional electricity demand created by data centres and electric vehicle charging. The conference will explore the challenges utilities face as they work towards reliable supply and a transition towards zero-carbon emissions.

For Jaipur, these discussions concern practical questions about how the distribution network handles changing demand and uses digital tools. The city's discom will join its counterparts in examining approaches to those challenges.

Three Sessions Planned For The Opening Day

Tuesday's programme includes the inauguration and three sessions: financial transformation of discoms; digital intelligence and advanced analysis of smart-meter data; and the role of renewable energy in maintaining uninterrupted, reliable supply as electricity demand grows.

Rajasthan Energy Secretary Aarti Dogra and India Smart Grid Forum President Reji Kumar Pillai are scheduled to deliver welcome addresses. Senior officials and energy-sector experts will address the opening ceremony, which will also include the launch of sector initiatives and reports.
